Sprayed the backside of the elevator skeleton pieces with the mini sprayer…much better results, only used 2 film canisters of paint. Also did the inside of the right elevator skin with self-etching primer (Dupont Variprimer) in only 2 canisters. Riveted nut-plates and reinforcing plates to the spar, spar to the rib, and horn to the spar and [...] Primered the skeleton for the left rudder…first attempt (”side 1″) with a spray gun resulted in quite a blast! Primer everywhere and me with a breathing apparatus that made me sound like an astronaut… I used the little mini-gun (feeding material from photo film canisters) for side 2 and it worked much better: little overspray and [...] The last three sessions were spend on the left elevator preparation. Clecos installed, matches drilled, dimples dimpled, blue vinyl coat pulled from inside and around pieces, edges deburred… The list goes on, of course.
