Well, that stinks. After patching the leak in the inboard end of the tank, I was sure that my balloon would hold air. And it did… …for a couple of hours. I left it inflated with no obvious signs of trouble after watching for 30 minutes or so. When I returned about two hours later, the balloon [...] The compressor arrived from Harbor Freight yesterday. It was leaking oil from the cardboard (!) packing material, but didn’t appear to suffer any damage. JMR helped me move it to the hangar. Setup was quick and easy, and (after wiping it down thoroughly to get rid of 90% of the surface oil) I fired it up. Five [...] |
