Finished the RE, drilling trailing edge and dimpling both sides of the skin, also countersinking the wedge.
All that remains is prosealing and buttoning up.
Time to start LE. Completed the primering of skeleton today. Late tonight or tomorrow, will start assembly. Also later, will primer the skeleton of the rudder in prep for final assembly.
Tried to backrivet the main spar of the R.E. last night…with all the twisting necessary, I blew about 8 rivets that didn’t seat well and sat tall and proud up from the skin. Went back this morning and drilled them out (the more I drill out, the better I get!) and I’ll hopefully buck [...]
Sprayed the backside of the elevator skeleton pieces with the mini sprayer…much better results, only used 2 film canisters of paint.
Also did the inside of the right elevator skin with self-etching primer (Dupont Variprimer) in only 2 canisters.
Riveted nut-plates and reinforcing plates to the spar, spar to the rib, and horn to the spar and [...]
Primered the skeleton for the left rudder…first attempt (”side 1″) with a spray gun resulted in quite a blast! Primer everywhere and me with a breathing apparatus that made me sound like an astronaut…

Finished dimpling all aspects of the left elevator, except for the #6 dimpler required for the plate nuts on the access panel (E-615PP if I recall).
The trim tab has been braked (actually pressed between two layers of my workbench) but it still needs to be dimpled and deburred.
All left elevator parts need to be deburred.

The last three sessions were spend on the left elevator preparation. Clecos installed, matches drilled, dimples dimpled, blue vinyl coat pulled from inside and around pieces, edges deburred…
