New arrivals, plus another 90 minutes

Received another 200 silver clecos and 100 copeer ones, plus a file and some riveting tape.

Oh yeah, and a CP-214 pneumatic squeezer! Have to figure out how to adjust the settings before I can use it, though.

Finally went back and match-drilled and clecoed the two mounting brackets on the forward spar. It took long enough, [...]

More on the HStab

Another 3 hours passed…I added a drill press to the tool collection for $51, which has been pressed (pun intended) into service as my scotch-brite automaton.

The second hstab has been clecoed and half match-drilled. I should finish it tomorrow. On Thursday, I expect a pneumatic squeezer to show up at my door (ebay) along with [...]

HSpar continued...

More clecos arrived today, and JMR and I spent the lunch hour clecoing and match drilling the rest of the left side of the horizontal spar.

Hopefully, the weekend will see the completion of the Horizontal Stab [...]

After he was done, we positioned node ribs, main spar and main ribs and set [...]

Well, actually *some* parts were fabricated. Specifically, shims.

The other brackets that I was supposed to fabricate, I screwed up. Made them 1/16″ too small, which is a no-no when tolerances are measured in 32nds of an inch. So, Monday I’ll [...]

Clecotime!

The compressor arrived from Harbor Freight yesterday. It was leaking oil from the cardboard (!) packing material, but didn’t appear to suffer any damage.

JMR helped me move it to the hangar. Setup was quick and easy, and (after wiping it down thoroughly to get rid of 90% of the surface oil) I fired it up.

Five [...]
