Getting ready...

Some more preliminary work today…I cut some stand platforms out of plywood and built a simple cinderblock-and-flooring raised platform for the shop tools (bandsaw, grinder and eventually drill press).

Also bought some new Rubbermaid shelves (capacity nearly 200 lbs each).

Inventory complete

JMR came by and helped inventory the emp boxes…all parts present and accounted for. Even the jigs to hold the rudder/stabilizers/elevators etc. were included.

Picked up a couple dozen rubbermaid plastic food storage boxes to keep small parts in.

Held onto the cardboard big box parts to lay pieces into and keep them off the floor.

Thanks, UPS! Empennage boxes are at hangar, partially checked in. I need shelves! I need some hardboard to hang some plans on!

Getting stuff...

The past week has been spent ($$$) getting ready. Last Saturday and Sunday, Cummins Tools pulled their semi-trailers into the VFW in Bryan, and I managed to pick up (mostly woodworking and ancillary) tools.

Got a bench vise, pneumatic drill, Ryobi bandsaw, 48″ aluminum ruler, metal chop saw, 4 shop tool stands,  aviation tim snips, a [...]

Saturday, Larry Perryman generously flew by Easterwood to give me a ride in his Subaru-powered RV-9A. Would I fit? Would I grin?
